Who am I?
I am multi-instrumentalist composer and performer specializing on the double bass and electric bass. Born in Mauritius, I have made Bath my base.
In my personal projects, the connection between instrumental music and emotion has been the centre of my music and academic practice. This has developed in many forms as I aim to create musical experiences to connect with others on a unique and personal level.
Starting my musical endeavours on classical guitar at six years old, I drew inspiration from Classical, Pop, Folk and Classic Rock from an early age with idols such as Slash, Eric Clapton, Mr. Big, and more. Subsequently, as a bass player, I have taken influence from bassists such as Billy Sheehan, Steve Lawson and Paul McCartney.
Gaining my bachelors from The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance before completing my teacher training and Masters in Composition at Leeds College of Music in 2017, I have worked as a musician in both the UK and USA.
Conveying emotion through instrumental works is essential to my musical and academic practice and continues to inform my craft with each day. Having released two books and two solo albums, I am now undertaking my PhD in Composition at Royal Holloway University of London
